10 Seasons of Philly Fashion Week

Although Fashion Week has come and gone, we are still looking back at the runways for inspiration, trend alerts and breaking down exactly what went down. For me, Philly Fashion Week is a an event were I can see what local designers are up to and what inspires them. To be exposed to the art and talent in my own back yard. Philly Fashion Week was a 5 day event; Starting with the 'Kick Off Party' at the Sugar House Casino on 9/17 and ending with the most anticipated event of the week; The Couture Runway Show on 9/21. I personally only made it out to the last two days, the Ready to Wear Show and the Couture Show. The shows took place at the Crane Arts building and I must say, both nights were jam packed with attendees from all over. This season, PFW was celebrating its 10th season thanks to the Co-Founders Kevin Parker & Kerry Scott and the PFW team and supporters. PFW provides local and national designers and models a platform to showcase their talent. And as of now, it's the only event in the city celebrating Fashion Week season after season.

Here are a few photos that capture the scene at PFW. All designers will be listed at the end.
ENJOY!

OOTN: Comic Pencil Skirt by TopShop, Oversized Blouse by Tilden & Metal Toe heels from Jeffrey Campbell.

In my opinion, there is always room for improvement in certain areas but I must say, with three seasons of PFW under my belt; with time I do see growth in the production, the quality of work being shown on the runway and even in the models casted for the shows…. and thats what keeps me going back season after season. This year, I had my long-time friend and fellow Fashion Blogger Ashley from 'Pin Me Up Ashley' accompany me to both shows. The long wait to get in the show was a rough start, but we both ended up enjoying the show and our night over all. Hope you all enjoyed the photos and stay tuned for a Runway Recap from Season 3 of Atlantic City Fashion Week!

As Fashion Week currently wraps up in Paris, it's time to take a look back at all the collections and excitement we have seen thus far. At the end of the day, thats exactly what Fashion should be; Inspiration to create your own individual style.

5 Tips for covering and surviving Fashion Week!

Hello my loves!

September means Fashion Week! I've only been attending Fashion Shows directly for my blog for 2 seasons (6 shows), but I've learned so much in the process. At this point, you should be registered for the shows you want to attend and should be getting your schedule in order for smooth sailing.... Here we go!

5 Tips to help you get through "Fashion Week" this season as a Blogger:

1. Register on Time:

Do your research and see what Fashion Shows you'd love to make it to. After you make your list, go to the website or contact the Coordinators directly to register your blog as PRESS. Not every Fashion Show may give you a pass, but it doesn't hurt to try. There are plenty of people registering for passes as well, and for this reason you want to register early to beat the crowd and also give the coordinator plenty of time to get back to you. Your blog will be reviewed to see if you are serious about what you do and if its worth it to them to give you a pass. Is your blog up to date? Do you blog quality work/photos? Do you get enough traffic to give them enough exposure? Even if you don't answer yes to all these questions but your serious about your blog and are working hard to get it where you want it to be, REGISTER!! You never know where you can get in if you don't put yourself out there.

 2. Charge your Camera:

Now that you have an in, the last thing you want to happen is that your camera dies mid-show. If you are just starting off on covering shows, you may not have invested in a camera yet. That's ok. But if you choose to continue covering shows every season and want to take your blog to the next level, this may be something you want to invest in. You don't have to buy a top of the line camera, but invest in something semi professional that is going to help you capture great photos. I've even seen a lot of bloggers use their Ipads to shoot. Whatever works for you. I always bring an extra battery to help get through the long night. Better to be safe the sorry!

3. Bring your Business Cards:

When you start going to shows and events for your blog, you may want to get comfortable with networking. Meeting people, introducing yourself and your blog and exchanging business cards. If your shy, remind yourself that most of the people that came out are there for the same thing BUSINESS.  And if you want your work to be known, you have to put yourself out there! Start by walking the vendor tables if there are any, introducing yourself to the designer, let them know what you do, snap a picture of them and there work and pass them a business card. You never know what relationship you may build. See someone in the crowd with a great outfit? Ask if you can snap their picture and then let them know where they can go to check it out (hint: hand them a business card). With time, networking will get easier if it doesn't already come natural to you.

Personal Business Cards

4. Take Notes:

With everything going on around you, you want to take good notes so that you can go back home and put your amazing post together. Hopefully, you will be snapping lots of pictures and you want to mention the designers and all the people you've met. I personally right down a description of the first and last outfit of every line next to the designers name so that I know 'what is what' in a sea of photos later on. I also make little side notes of each line like; Do I like what I see? Whats the theme/inspiration? What type of fabrics were used? Does anything special stand out from this line/designer?

5. Pick out your outfit:

This is probably one of the first things you get together once you get a press pass confirmation being the fashionista that you are. Of course, you want to dress the part, you want to show off your personal style, and this is the place to do so. Remember, to always be yourself. You don't have to be too over the top or dress in something that you THINK is fashion show appropriate but will never wear again. Its not a part, so don't put on your highest of heels. Knowing in advance if you'll have a seat or if you'll be standing in the press section, may help you decide what shoes to wear. Usually, press stands the whole time in a crowded section with other photographers and huge equipment. So Yes, dress up but keep in mind that you want to be comfortable. I usually opt for wedges or boots, no stilettos.

My last piece of advice is to get there early. As press, you want to be able to get the best seat available or the best standing spot. Around you, will probably be bigger media companies with equipment a lot larger then yours. If you get there after them, you might get stuck behind them and miss out on some amazing shots. And on another note, remember photography curtesy. Be kind, you'll all be sharing a small space. Don't block someones else's view. Some how there is always away to set yourself up so everyone wins.

Hide from the Sun in Leather

Hi my Lovelies! Oh, how I've missed you all! I hope everyone is enjoying these gorgeous summer days & long summer nights. My apologies for being away for awhile, but the good news is..... "I'm Back"! For all the Endless Inspiration fans, I hope you've been catching up with me through my other social media accounts, like Facebook, Instagram, and even Pinterest! If not, go do so now! Their the sites I use the most and post daily inspirations for you all. So lets get straight into it!

So, as I surfed the web, I ran into a picture of Rihanna wearing the cutest leather visor EVER! So naturally, I started my research to see who the designer behind this summer must-have was. And although I wasn't familiar with the name, I realized that I have seen their work before through magazines and editorials.

Most recently, Rihanna was wearing this chestnut classic leather visor by Fleet Ilya on the beach.

The master mind brand behind these babies is Fleet Ilya. They are a London based accessories company specializing in leather pieces. Fleet Ilya is the product of Ilya Fleet & Resha Sharma. Ilya Fleet comes from a background of traditional saddle-making and Resha Sharma is a Graphic Design graduate. There accessories have been seen in the pages of Vogue and V Magazine just to name a few. Before these visors, you might have seen there harness collection on a model in the pages of your favorite magazine. Other pieces available through their site and boutiques a-like include belts, bags, harnesses, cuffs & collars and headwear for men and women.

All the visors pictured above are their classic leather visors for both men and women.

......and these are their racer-back leather visors!

Are you guys familiar with this brand? If so, do you love what they do or are you not a fan? Let's talk about it! As I did my research, it was evident that Rihanna is a fan, and who else could pull this off better then her? Take a look......

Till Next Time........

Atlantic City Fashion Week Re-run!

Hello My Lovelies!

Finally, all the photos are edited from this past seasons Fashion Week activities. Oh, but it's so worth the wait! I have a ton of photos and new designers to share with you guys. I truly enjoyed myself this past season. I feel that the more I attend these shows and events, the easier and more natural everything runs. I  just started going with the flow and enjoying every part of it for what it is; whether its good, bad or plain ugly lol. Having a busy schedule and running around from city to city can start to feel overwhelming and takes the fun out of Fashion Week. So to my fellow bloggers, breath and let go. Everything starts to fall into place, just stay passionate.

This weeks Fashion Week coverage comes from Atlantic City, New Jersey. This was the first show we attended and the kick off to meeting many new designers. One thing I must point out is how young many of these aspiring designers are. Very Inspirational! And, sometimes being labeled as the "lost generation", it's very empowering to see that not all is lost. That there are a lot of talented individuals who are dedicated to their craft and passion and are on there way of being tomorrow's entrepreneurs. Once again, Congratulations to all the designers that showed their collections.

14 Designers rocked the runway in Atlantic City at The Pier at Caesars on February 8th. The photos are linked to the designers page, so click away if you are interested in contacting the designer or buying. More Photos from each designer are posted on our official Facebook Page

Enjoy!

As you guys can see, it was a very packed show. One thing I appreciated about this past season's Atlantic City Fashion Show is how many designers showed man's clothing. It's no secret that fashion is a female dominated industry, and sometimes we forget that man care just as much as we do about looking sharp. I know my partner appreciated that as well.

We'd like to Thank Atlantic City Fashion Week's Executive Producers Lamont & Jeana Bowling for allowing us to attend and cover the show. Congratulations to them on there second season, and we look forward to many more amazing shows!
